Integration and Maintenance of the Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation Information in 2008 and 2009

Absrtact
There were 5 major tasks proposed to carry out for this project. These tasks were the continuation of the followings: expanding the application scope of soil and groundwater pollution remediation information, effective use of the soil and groundwater pollution information, website maintenance and website information revision, the information system efficiency upgrade and internet safety management. Due to the difficulties encountered during pollution investigation, control measures execution, and remediation performing, a major target in this project wants to achieve is to expand the application scope of the relevant information for soil and groundwater pollutin and remediation by data exchanging and system operational interconnection among six major systems specifically designed for soil and groundwater pollution remediation. This would save the costs and times spent on system development and maintenance and also simplify the data reporting. Except adjusting the system mechanism, there were 13 functions developed. The local performance score in 2008 were calculated by this newly revised system. By using this system, simplification of the administrative tasks is achieved and saves more time. Totally there were 372 cases of administrative tasks and 977 cases of pollution sites recorded. The comprehensive systematic and data filing quality control were proceeded with 100% guarantee of excellent quality. The soil and groundwater pollution remediation webpage was revised. The revised webpage joins with the flash technique and Google Map search engine to make public understand better of the information. Before the programming codes are used, they are checked to avoid safety weakness. The database copied the entire data daily to avoid data lost; the designated personnel review the copied data weekly and test the restored database 53 times totally. Such actions effectively protect the system from safety deficiency and ensure the system is smoothly operated without interruption due to safety issue. The other miscellaneous tasks performed were set-up of consultant and toll-free customer service personnel. Totally 292 tasks along with 2 training sessions and 1 symposium were completed.
